The Ex-HMAS Hobart is a Charles F. Adams class Destroyer (DDG) which was scuttled on March 5th 2002 as an artificial reef and dive tourism destination. HMAS Hobart had a long and distinguished career with the RAN, including tours of duty off Vietnam during the war.  The wreck lies on sand in about 30m of water some 4 nautical miles from Wirrina Cove.  The site is subject to fairly significant tidal currents on tide changes so is best dived in slack water or on dodge tide days.

It can be dived on charters (currently there is only one boat providing these) or from a private boat.  If diving from a private boat permits are available from the ramp office at Wirrina which need to be obtained by each diver.
